My name is Jacob Raspob and I’m a retired real estate contractor, I’ve spent a significant part of my life building houses and helping clients achieve their dream homes through new home construction and remodels. When it comes to building a new house and planting gardens, I cannot stress enough the importance of seeking wisdom and understanding at every step of the process.

In my experience, it’s wise to base plans and decisions on the Word of God. As Holy Scripture declares in  Proverbs 24:3-4, “By wisdom, a house is built, and through understanding, it is established.” Building your home on a strong foundation of faith in God’s Word ensures that it will stand the test of time and weather all the storms life throws at you.

It’s important to give thanks to God for His provision and for the daily bread He provides. As a contractor, I always remind my clients to appreciate the hard work and dedication that goes into building a new home. I encourage them to create a peaceful dwelling in their master bedroom where they can find rest and peace.

Through the years, I’ve seen multiple clients focus on the superficial aspects of the building process, such as fancy hardware and extravagant landscaping.  While that is fine, it’s important to remember that it’s the building process of the foundations, wall layouts, and general foot-traffic flow that is of the utmost importance. It’s during this time that we learn patience, perseverance, and trust in God’s plan for our lives.

Take it from me, building a home is an exciting journey, but it’s also a challenging one! By seeking wisdom and understanding, building on the foundation of God’s Word, and giving thanks for His provision, we can create a home that reflects God’s love and grace and serves as a haven of rest and refuge for all who enter.
